lonely bird's JournalProblem seeing things people post
When people post cartoons, tweets or other type of links to other social media I cannot see them. Do I need to do something? I use Express VPN if that means something.
Thanks,

Welp, the Democratic Party is on the verge of handing the presidency to a raving lunatic
The time for discussion about who the nominee of the Democratic Party was to be in 2024 was before the primaries.
Now, the circular firing squad is showing, intentionally or not that our party is a disorganized mess. This helps the orange lunatic, period.
The polls are crazy. Yet, here we are. People scared to death of losing appear to willing to put forth an image the perception of which is that our party doesnt know what the fuck it is doing.
Please note that this is a video but I think is applicable
We sing this in our church choir during Advent.
I cannot get through it without crying because of one verse - they will war no more
Welp, Ohio stupidity shines out again

Ohio Republicans Want Teacher Curriculums Shared Online
https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2022/01/03/ohio-republicans-want-teacher-curriculums-shared-online/9054152002/At first blush this might not seem like a bad idea although parents already have access to the school curriculum. What is interesting is one small paragraph in the article:
And he (state representative Brett Hudson Hillyer R-Uhichsville) thought it could tone down some of the rhetoric at school board meetings about divisive concepts like slavery and racism.
So the problem is actually laid bare by Hillyers own words. Racism and slavery are too divisive.
Divisive for who? Those who were and are the target of racism? Or too divisive for delicate Republicans?
Merely one more example of Oh-Alabama-io.
Young America's Foundation
https://www.yaf.org/Anyone heard of these asshats? Their ad appears on DU. It looks like a propaganda site when you go to it. Ted Cruz is mentioned as is Scott Walker who, it seems, started it. It also mentions Hillsdale College which is so RW as to merely be missing Brownshirt uniforms.
Ohio Republicans keep lowering the bar
A small article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer states that two Ohio Republican legislators sent e-mails to their colleagues asking them to cosponsor a bill to designate June 14 to celebrate Trump as one of the greatest presidents in American history. Jon Cross of Kenton and Reggie Stoltzfus of Paris Township sent the e-mail saying Lets show the 3,154,834 Ohio voters who cast their ballot to re-elect Donald J. Trump that we as a legislature recognize the accomplishments of his administration.
Fer Chrissakes, Ohio keeps getting stupider and stupider.
Harvest? HARVEST?
Sounds like someone let slip the reality. This isnt about the outdoors. This isnt about getting off the electronics. This is about killing, period. I dont give a shit about those who say the eat what they kill. They want to kill, period.
Hobby Lobby Founder Reportedly Told Employees A Message From God Informed His Decision to Leave Stor
Source: Business Insider
Hobby Lobby, the craft store chain that is no stranger to controversy, is once again finding itself in hot water for allegedly citing a message from God in its decision to leave stores open amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Though more than 90 retailers in the US have temporarily shuttered in the past week in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus, Hobby Lobby has remained steadfast in staying open for business. On Saturday, digital strategist Kendall Brown tweeted a widely circulated photo of a note allegedly written by Hobby Lobby founder David Green, in which the openly conservative Christian businessman repeatedly mentions the power of God as part of his justification to leave stores open.
In the note to employees, Green reportedly wrote that the decision was informed by a message from God bestowed upon his wife Barbara Green, who he described as a "prayer warrior."
"In her quiet prayer time this past week, the Lord put on Barbara's heart three profound words to remind us that He's in control. Guide, Guard, and Groom," Green reportedly says in the letter. "We serve a God who will Guide us through this storm, who will Guard us as we travel to places never seen before, and who, as a result of this experience, will Groom us to be better than we could have ever thought possible before now."

So, the CEO's wife got a message from God and Hobby Lobby is staying open in defiance of the state of Ohio. Another "religious freedom" bullshit case for the SCOTUS coming up imo.
I e-mailed Hobby Lobby saying the CEO's wife was a liar. These Pharisees need to be exposed. The Christ said that the wealthy have their reward.
Once again Ohio is at the forefront of being bass-ackwards
https://www.cleveland.com/open/2019/10/sen-rob-portman-still-plans-to-vote-for-president-donald-trump-despite-impeachment-inquiry.htmlThe information gathered against Trump isnt convincing enough for Rob Portman to vote against him. Plus he says that there are a lot of good things going on.
GDP, while a lousy metric of the economy, is slowing. Manufacturing is slowing. Layoffs are increasing or being considered.
Hell, Sherwin-Williams, headquartered in Cleveland for 150 years might leave not just Cleveland but Ohio.
Yeah, Robby, things are great.
If Obama had done half what Trump has done Portman would have led the charge against him.
